where did april go?

april was such a busy month for me,
it went by so rapidly my memories are all blurring together.

Hi again.
Sorry I've been absent recently; many unexpected things came up and I was just so busy!
But I'm back now (I know you've heard that one before... haha).

The good thing is: I won my first Camp NaNoWriMo! (insert overly-used smiley face here.)

Yup, it's all over and now I can go back to writing at my own pace (which is considerably less than 1,667 words a day).

Also, I read some great books recently.  To name a few:

Saving June by Hannah Harrington
(loved this book sooo much that I had to buy my own copy)

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
(such a cute story, but don't even get me started on the ending)

Pivot Point by Kasie West
(loved the plotline and the ending was so unexpected and the book was simply spectacular)

Alright, I'll make sure to blog more often, I promise you. ;)

So today we begin Camp NaNoWriMo.
I'm telling you this so in case I'm not posting regularly, you'll know why.
50,000 words in April.
I'm determined!

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can either see this post of mine or visit www.campnanowrimo.org!

See you later, once I've gone insane.

Supernatural Addiction

4:57 PM
I can't stop watching Supernatural.
So when I joined Tumblr, things kept showing up on my dash about Supernatural, and everyone was saying how it was amazing and so I decided to begin watching it.
I started Season One in early February, and I'm now halfway through Season Four and it's become a serious addiction haha.
I watch at least one episode a day (yes, I realize how sad this is) and I seriously cannot get enough of that show.  It's so perfect!
Okay, I realize I've become a fangirl and if you look at my Tumblr it has a whole bunch of Supernatural reposts on it but I'm not even sorry ;]
If you've never seen Supernatural, I suggest you try it, trust me, you'll be hooked.

Okay, now to watch some more Supernatural and procrastinate planning my novel for Camp NaNo...

P.S. A lot of the people I follow on Tumblr are saying Sherlock is spectacular too... so I've decided I'm going to watch the six episodes available on Netflix. I've heard the last episode has a giant cliffhanger so... wish me luck.

dreams ~

0
1:58 PM
dreams have always fascinated me.
Ever since I was little, the concept of dreaming was something I thought about.
I've managed to think of many questions that I'd like to understand in all these years, like:
why do you have dreams some nights while others you don't?
why do you see yourself sometimes, while sometimes you see through your eyes?
why do your friends and acquaintances appear in strange roles in your dreams?

why are some dreams completely random, while others seem to have a definite storyline?

It doesn't make sense to me.
So, I was looking up these questions on Google (because how else do you learn information? haha I'm joking guys) and I didn't really find any answers.

The concept of dreams hasn't seemed to be completely understood by anyone just yet...
I find this just so strange.

Do you think life today would be completely different without dreams?
Our world would be devoid of many books in which the plotline was inspired by the author's dream.

Maybe some inventions wouldn't exist either.
I'm not sure just how different our world would be.

dreams are such a strange thing to think about, aren't they?

on writing.

12:57 PM
writing, writing, writing.
This has been my life lately.
Next month, Camp NaNoWriMo begins.  In case you don't know, NaNoWriMo is when you write 50,000 words in November.  Camp NaNoWriMo, however, is in April and July this year, and you get to choose how your word count goal for the month.
So I've decided on doing April's Camp NaNoWriMo...

this will be fun.

So I participated in NaNo last year's November, but I didn't outline my story beforehand, so I finished all 50,000 words, but I wrote myself into a corner that I couldn't find a way out of.
This time around, I've learned my lesson.
This time, I'm outlining my novel.
I recently had a great idea and I've been spending every day thinking about possible plot twists and character developments, sub-plots and the ending,
The ending is what's causing me all of the trouble.
The ending to a novel is the most important part, in my opinion.  You have to leave your reader with an ending that ties up nearly everything and surprises the reader and leaves them feeling complete (if it's a standalone) or wanting more (if it's a series).
That's just my point of view on things.

I am so excited for Camp NaNoWriMo!
If you're participating in April, you should comment! :)

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I suggest you visit
NaNoWriMo's website -  http://nanowrimo.org

Thanks for listening to my rant, I appreciate it. :]

Chaos Walking.

0
10:04 AM
So lately I've been reading the Chaos Walking series by Patrick Ness, and let me just tell you, it's amazing.
BOOK ONE
I'm currently reading the second book, The Ask and the Answer, and it's perfect so far!  Todd and Viola are such interesting characters! The plotline is very good, too.  Seriously, if you like dystopian YA, you'd love this series!
A few days ago, I was perusing the web, and I found out that the ending to the final book, Monsters of Men, was really sad.  I'm very scared to finish the third book, because I would honestly rather not to explode with emotions.
BOOK TWO
I haven't been able to get this series out of my mind, so I thought I'd just rant to you about it, because, why not?
Okay, so Todd is this boy living in Prentisstown, and everyone can hear everyone's thoughts.  They call the thoughts "Noise" because it's pretty much unintelligible nonsense.  Here, I'll just post the blurb of The Knife of Never-Letting Go from GoodReads...

BOOK THREE
Prentisstown isn't like other towns. Everyone can hear everyone else's thoughts in an overwhelming, never-ending stream of Noise. Just a month away from the birthday that will make him a man, Todd and his dog, Manchee -- whose thoughts Todd can hear too, whether he wants to or not -- stumble upon an area of complete silence. They find that in a town where privacy is impossible, something terrible has been hidden -- a secret so awful that Todd and Manchee must run for their lives.

But how do you escape when your pursuers can hear your every thought?

The book is really good, and if the synopsis interests you, GO READ IT NOW.

If you haven't read this series, I strongly advise you too (seriously), you'll thank me later ;]
